About Pennie Sempell's Place: Our Mission Health is a treasure. On that point, most all people would agree. For thousands of years, humans have explored how to promote healing and health. Astounding advances have been made, and traditional healing arts have not been entirely lost. Yet, with the challenges of life and modern day stressors, it takes many skills (not just pills) to stay healthy and happy. Pennie Sempell's Place is a place to find quality educational programs and services that help the child and the adult create a healthier, happier life. Our mission is to help empower people, young and old, to learn and apply skills to protect and grow their health treasure, to help oneself become “health intelligent”. For fun, we call this Qi I.Q. (Qi is pronounced “key” or “chi”).

About Gerald Mitchell, MBA, ASMT Gerald Mitchell brings his warm laugh and love of everything “healthy” to the recording studio as D.J. “G” in the “Best of Broadway and Beyond” series. Gerald grew up in a supportive extended family and community in southern Georgia during the height of the Civil Rights era. Because he always liked fruits and nuts more than greasy food, neighborhood kids called him “Doc” for short. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and fitness, and moved west to Texas to complete a graduate degree in business administration and begin his career. Gerald continued what would become more than two decades of study of ancient energy therapies, including the Tao healing arts and Jin Shin Jyutsu, as well as nutritional approaches to using food as a natural medicine. He joined Pennie in her private practice in San Francisco and works full time as a healing arts and energy therapy practitioner and educator. Gerald has traveled extensively in Latin America and Thailand. He loves to dance, walk, swim, make juice out of everything in sight, play with his dog, and be with his family and friends.
